Free ? Let's judge random people

Image
I just talked to an old friend after a really long time. A casual conversation which started with "How are you?" and stuff. I don't know how, we ended up talking about other people. This probably is the worst human trait. When you can't think of anything to talk about, you judge random people. "What a loser ! he's a Justin Bieber fan", "My textbook is more entertaining than his tweets", "Of all the people why is she dating him ?", "She completes all her assignments on time. She has no life".. Sometimes I feel like saying "TOH MAIN KYA KARU ?"  For all I know, I judge people all the time. In engineering colleges, some people use the word "NERD" a bit too casually. You ask a doubt or you score above average marks, you'll hear some voices calling you "nhherd ! nhherd !" (In a deep masculine voice) Back in 10th grade I remember asking this guy, "Why do you ask stupid questi

Dramatic December

Image
The Supreme Court verdict is out and a gay or a lesbian in India is now a bigger criminal than a "minor" rapist. What happens behind a closed door is more important than what happens on the street or a bus.  What a person does in his/her bedroom is now of national importance.  Way to go India! December so far has been quite eventful and dramatic. Probably more has happened during this time than the first 11 months combined. Death of Paul Walker and Nelson Mandela, AAP's MASSIVE DEBUT, Indian Cricket team losing miserably VS South Africa and of course Section 377. It is still tough to digest the news of Paul Walker's death. And even more tough to think about the next Fast and Furious movie without him. Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel and Jason Statham in one movie! How insanely awesome this would have been? How tough it must have been for his family to bury him at 40.  But some people die months before they actually die. 6 days later it was N

Rahul Dravid - Perfection Personified

Image
"He's not good enough to play One Day Internationals", they said.  How many people go on to score 10,889 runs in ODI cricket after being pulled down like that?  With a methodical and technically perfect approach Rahul Dravid took Indian Cricket to a whole new level. His contribution alone is equivalent to the combined contribution of ten other successful players. May be the statistics don’t reflect this, but we all know to what extent he can go for any team he plays for. When you don’t have a captain, you go to Dravid, you don’t have a wicket keeper, you ask Dravid to keep, you can’t find an opening partner for Viru, you promote him up the order. The comparison with Sachin is inevitable.  Sachin was the reason I started watching Cricket, but Dravid gave me the reason to keep watching cricket. Unlike all big players Rahul Dravid  never played for his fans, he played for the team and HE PLAYED FOR THE GAME. He played Cricket the way it was intended to be played

Game Of Thrones - Season 3 (Review)

Image
To complete your engineering here in Pune University, you need to write three reviews, one every year, for the first three years. So, here's my review on Game Of Thrones - Season 3.          As much as I love Game Of Thrones, I'm glad George R.R. Martin isn't involved in the making of other TV series like Dexter. This man could've killed off Dexter in the fourth season itself. Only Game of Thrones can possibly survive this slaughter of important characters. Despite all the supernatural stuff, warging and dragons, Game Of Thrones is actually more real than other TV series. And that's because GoT does not portray the good as immortal, which adds the element of realism. As children, we're forced to believe that the 'good' always overpowers the 'bad', which is far from truth. One thing we figure out after the end of this season is that, in the "Game of Thrones" everything, from Victory, Defeat to Iron Throne is temporary.

Credenz '13

Its not everyday that you get to be a part of something you know you'll cherish for life. Organized by the PICT IEEE Student Branch (PISB), Credenz is one such event. Opportunities will always be near the doorstep, its all about the right time and the right door. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this one.

Man Of Steel

Image
If a Nolan movie releases with a Khan movie on the same day in India, I won't be surprised if the former wins the battle here. That's the impact this man has all over the world. Before Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, the last batman movie was the one which had George Clooney as Bruce Wayne, in which his bat-suit got more attention than the movie. After that disaster, it seemed as if Batman movies were never coming back. Nolan had other plans. His three extraordinary and unforgettable movies starting with Batman Begins, starring Christian Bale and Liam Neeson, are unarguably the best superhero movies of all time.           Likewise, there have been many Superman movies before, but I don't think any of those left behind any memory for the world to cherish. Christopher Reeves, if I'm not wrong, starred in quite a few below-par superman movies. So finally, Man Of Steel, directed by Zack Snyder, with Henry Cavill as Clark Kent, releases tomorrow

Why God, Why ?

A few kids were playing cricket, while Bachchan was rambling through the condensed streets of Chennai. And.. Smack! The ball hit him in the groin. He walked away quietly, trying his best to suppress the pain, while the kids laughed their asses off. It was four past noon and he had completely forgotten about his lecture at a junior college in the city. For starters, this person knew nothing about his subject. It took him 20 minutes to reach his classroom. “Good Evening everyone!”, Bachchan said, as he entered the class. “Off-Off-Off-Off”, whispered the entire class in a perfect rhythm. Well, this is not the kind of welcome you want after being hit in the groin. He ignored the boos.  “So relative motion.. !”, Bachchan started with his subject. “Motion.. Motion may have a different appearance as viewed from a different frame..”, Bachchan stammered, as he looked into his fat textbook to complete the sentence. “.. of reference”, he continued. “Pch.. Pch.. Pch.. Pch”, the stu

Behind the Door

Image
There is one mysterious locked room in every one's life. He wants to know what’s behind the door, but he needs to first find the key to the door. Later in his life he does, yet he keeps procrastinating it, there's something holding him back. May be, he's waiting for the 'right time' to unlock and explore his destiny. In all probability, he has already wasted half his life for the 'moment'. Life would've been a lot more better and simpler had he never known about that door. He's desperate, he wants to know what's in there. What is it that's holding him back - Is it the fear of disappointment or the fear of losing something he already has ? What could possibly be behind that door - Light or darkness ?  May be, that room is the reason for him to be living. May be that room is the opportunity he is never going to seize. Or may be that room is his final station, his doom. There are thousands of questions, answers to which
