What if..


                This is one little game which every idle person on this planet likes to play. When we’ve got nothing to do, the first thing we do is – Go into the past -> Create a hypothetical situation -> And trace the events leading to the present. This is the ‘what if’ situation. When things don’t exactly go the way you want to, they end with you debugging the past. 

A Bigger Picture..

Certain situations which could’ve changed the present completely :   
  •    Adam and Eve discover they’re gay.
  •   The British never enter India.
  •   The British leave India after India’s is fully developed.
  •   Hitler wins the World War II.
  •   The Soviets remain united.
  •   Gandhi supports Subhash Chandra Bose’s methods.
  •   Pandavas do not lose Draupadi to Kauravas.
  •   The apple falls after Newton leaves.
  •     Flintoff does nothing to exite Yuvraj Singh (six-sixes).
  •     India-Pakistan partition never happens. 

      
       
          There’s no point discussing if Adam and Eve were gay. What if the British never entered India ? Caste discrimination, Sati - System (wife killing herself after husband’s death), Dowry - System, Child marriage would still be residing in India ? Though some of that stuff is still being practiced here, most of the customs are being forgotten. The British came to exploit India, but knowingly or unknowingly they did eliminate some of these Indian practices. And of course they introduced Cricket.
          
          What if Gandhiji and his men supported Tilak or Bose ? Being non-violent was Gandhiji’s moto. That doesn’t rule out the possibility that Subhash Chandra Bose’s methods could’ve given India its independence much before. And what if he never went missing and was appointed as India’s first Prime Minister in 1947 ? What if the partition never happened ? The first thing which comes to my mind is – Cricket Team would’ve been insanely invinsible. May be, terrorism would’ve not expanded and the world woud’ve been a better place.
         
          What if Newton never noticed the falling apple ? What if Newton never discovered gravity ?  World would’ve been a better place for students. Giving this a serious thought, nothing would’ve evolved. Life would’ve been simple with no technology, no planes, no inventions, nothing. Would the great battle of Kurukshetra take place if the Pandavas never lost the game of cards to Kauravas ? Would Caesar's assassinaion happen, if Cassius never tried playing those mind games on Brutus ? What if Antony never fell in love with Cleopatra ?

         How simple life would have been, if there never was something called “fear”, “negative thought” or “jealousy”. How different would things be, if life had a reset button ?

A Word Called Basic.

        I believe this should be the most hated word of the century. And that’s because it never lives up to its dictionary meaning. Its dictionary meaning - “1. Forming an essential foundation, 2. Consisting of the minimum required”. It's always associated with something complicated. Almost all students and teachers in this world use the word ‘basically’ probably every time they start talking about something. For instance, when a teacher asks a student to explain a certain thing, the student will always start like this- “Basically its blah blah.. aa.. blah.. aa.. blah. "Inauspicious" to be a widow?

One of these days, I'm going to write a book full of random rules on how to live. I'll be a bit cryptic, to make it seem meaningful and serious. All rules will be in the form of complex poetry. Because, why not? And I'm going to bury the book a long way under the ground. A hundred years from now, some one will find this book. They'll decipher the rules. They'll sing the songs. They'll make some more around it. They'll create another religion. More chaos. Sounds fun right? Or sadist? Last week, I came across this tweet-   "According to the Skanda Purana , widows are more inauspicious than all other inauspicious things " My ignorance led me to assume that "Skanda Purana" is a person, a politician, I guessed. It's actually some religious text. Either way, I'm not surprised with a statement as outrageous as this. I don't have the whole context of it and I'm least interested in knowing more about it. India for a Girl

    Time:- 12 a.m.     Venue:- An empty street, India.     Scene:- A young girl and a less-than-innocent looking stranger(a man), walking down the road. In what  way is the girl expected to act in such a situation? She has no idea who the person is, whether he’s drunk, depressed, pissed with the world or just some random guy with no bad intension. Something really unfortunate and disturbing happened in Guwahati last week, which was nothing less than a catastrophe. This made me think, “What is India for a girl?” or “What a girl should expect from a stranger constantly staring at her?” These questions do have answers. And these answers will put India in the dark shadow of hypocrisy yet again. A certain part of an Indian will still say, “It was the girl’s mistake.. She shouldn’t have been there at that time”, while overlooking the 30 odd people who molested her.
